SUEZ GROUP: GREEN CREATIVE’S FIRST CUSTOMER TO RECOVER HOUSEHOLD BIOWASTE WITH FLEXIDRY!
SUEZ Group has chosen to equip its Limeil-Brévannes sorting center with a FLEXIDRY depackaging unit in order to recover the biowaste collected by local authorities and businesses in the south-east of Ile-de-France.
“In 2016, SUEZ’s Limeil-Brévannes center was modernized to offer the latest generation sorting system with 13 different packaging waste streams. With a capacity of 60,000 tons of waste processed each year, it is one of the largest sorting centers in France today. Its performance is fully in line with the national sorting and recycling strategy and objectives.
A few months ago, our center developed even further, in order to process the biowaste collected from hypermarkets and from 30 communities located in the southern region of Ile-de-France.
In late 2018, as part of this development, we chose to invest in the FLEXIDRY depackaging solution - a high-tech equipment, entirely manufactured in Sucy-en-Brie, 5 km from our site", says SUEZ.
Tons of waste collected in the region by the SUEZ sorting center are now depackaged on site. The packaging can then be recycled and the organic matter is recovered by local biogas plants who turn into clean energy.
The SUEZ sorting center in Limeil-Brévannes is therefore the first Green Creativepartner to collect and process household biowaste - a poorly collected andreprocessed resource - up until now!
SUEZ has chosen to pre-process this household biowaste with FLEXIDRY in order to obtain a premium-value organic output, which is a guarantee of high-quality matter for its biogas partners.
Building on this experience, Green Creative intends to address the issue of communities who wish to develop efficient solutions for household biowaste processing and who need to meet the regulatory objectives by 2025.
